Preferred Qualifications
BA/BFA in Visual Arts, Music, Theatre, or Education with a demonstrated background in the arts. Applicants should have previous experience working with children. Applicants should be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
Licenses or Certifications Required:
May require certification in area specified for the assigned class. CPR/First Aid are required.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

The Dougherty Arts School is looking for visual artists (both 2D and 3D), actors and animators for Summer Camp instructors. Camp dates are June 7 thru August 13, which includes one week of training.Creative individuals are needed to work in a fun environment with children ages 5 - 15 years old.

1. Conduct classes for participants ages 5 - 12 (children are divided into age groups).
2. Present lectures, demonstrations, and illustrations on specialized visual art and culture topics or theater topics.
3. Plan course content and method of presentation or delivery.
4. Select and assemble materials, equipment, and other instructional aids.
5. Select, store, and inventory equipment and supplies used in the classroom.
6. Prepare lesson plans to meet course objectives.
7. Adapt workshops and classes to student age, physical ability, and interests.
8. Ensure safe and proper use of equipment and materials.
9. Supervise student practice and provide feedback for improvement or correction.
10. Evaluate effectiveness of courses and workshops, recommending improvements as appropriate.
11. Maintain student records and provide data to program personnel as required.
12. Provide administrative support to produce, promote, administer or evaluate education programs as necessary.
13. Maintain and administer student behavior management, complete appropriate reports.
14. Communicate with staff, students and parents with progress information of students and programs.
Other related duties may be assigned.
