INITIATE SYSTEMS – QA Engineer

Initiate is seeking a talented QA Engineer to join our implementation team. This position requires strong experience testing commercial applications using manual and automated methods. In this position, you will be exposed to industry-leading software, new technology, and exceptional engineers. You will be responsible for creating and executing test strategies in our agile environment.

Description:
• Work closely with developers and architects to create test plans and test cases for diverse applications and platforms.
• Setup and maintain test environments. This may include configuring operating systems, databases, and all or part of the Initiate product set.
• Execute test cases accurately – recording results and reporting bugs appropriately.
• Create and maintain automated test cases and the automated test environment. This will include system configuration, sample data, the test tools themselves, and any results.
• Decompose large, complex tasks into discrete components. Experience with agile methodologies such as time boxed development and test driven development are a plus.

Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a software testing or development environment.
• Exposure to both client-side and server-side testing or development.
• Exposure to application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache/Tomcat).
• Ability to work effectively on a variety of platforms such as the latest Windows (32 and 64 bit) OS, Solaris, AIX, and Linux.
• Experience with database technology - specifically SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Experience developing automated test cases using Java, C/C++, perl, ant, or other scripting environments.
• Solid understanding of the tools and practices of a mature software development environment.
